An upcoming Android smartphone from HTC – currently going by the HTC U11 Plus (+) moniker – is reportedly going to come loaded with a 4,000 mAh battery, according to a new tip on Twitter from LlabTooFeR. A tipster known for revealing information specifically relevant to HTC devices and HTC in general. Unfortunately, the tweet does not provide much else in terms of information other than stating that while the U11 Plus will come with some minor increases in its dimensions, relatively speaking it will be a similar size to the current HTC U11 model. Which is a point in itself worth noting, as if true this will mean the 4,000 mAh capacity battery is packed within the same sized body that HTC previously only managed to pack a 3,000 mAh battery inside. Which is a fairly significant increase in capacity without affecting the form factor of the phone.
As for the HTC U11 Plus in general, little is still properly known about this device although earlier today a device bearing the model number 'HTC 2Q4D1' was spotted passing through Geekbench. While unconfirmed, it is believed that this model number is likely to be for the HTC U11 Plus. Again if correct, the benchmarking listing does highlight a few of the specs that will likely be on offer with this phone – such as 4GB RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, and Android 8.0 (Oreo). Going slightly further back (September, 2017) other rumors pointed to the HTC U11 Plus as a smartphone which will follow the bezel-less trend of 2017 by adopting a 5.99-inch display along with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a QHD+ (2880 x 1440) resolution.
Regardless of what will be on offer with the HTC U11 Plus, HTC has recently confirmed that it will be hosting an event on November 2 in Taipei, Taiwan. Although HTC did not provide any firm indications of what will be announced at the event, speculation highly suggests it will be the HTC U11 Plus that is announced. In addition to being announced, it is also expected that this new HTC smartphone will become available fairly soon after the initial introduction (and likely during November), as previous rumors have pointed to the U11 Plus hitting the market during Q4 of 2017, and in time for the Holiday shopping period.
HTC U11+ will be featured by ~4000mah battery.
Physical size of the device is comparable to U11 with some minor increase in X-Y-Z dimensions
