OPPO has just announced its much rumored OPPO F5 handset. The OPPO F5 is a phone which comes with really thin bezels, and it is made out of metal. This handset comes with a single camera on the back, while an LED flash is placed next to it. A fingerprint scanner is also included on the back of this phone, and below it, you'll notice OPPO's branding. A power / lock key is included on the right-hand side of the OPPO F5, while you will find volume up and volume down buttons on the left. The display of this smartphone is rounded, and antenna lines are placed on the very top and bottom of the phone, though they're tucked away nicely.
In terms of specs, the OPPO F5 sports a 6-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, which comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio, obviously, and a sheet of 2.5D curved glass is also placed on top of it, not to mention that it also has Corning's Gorilla Glass 5 protection. MediaTek's Helio P23 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this phone, and it is backed by the Mali G71 MP2 GPU. The OPPO F5 comes with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable storage, while a 3,200mAh non-removable battery is also a part of this package. The phone features a 16-megapixel rear-facing snapper (f/1.8 aperture), and a 20-megapixel front-facing camera (f/2.0 aperture). A 3.5mm headphone jack is a part of this package, and so is 4G LTE connectivity (with VoLTE). Bluetooth 4.2 is also included here, while the phone measures 156.5 x 76 x 7.5mm, and weighs 152 grams. It's also worth noting that the device ships with OPPO's ColorOS 3.2 software, though we're unsure which version of Android comes pre-installed on the device, even though it's probably Android Nougat.
Now, it's worth noting that this phone comes with some neat software features as well, its ColorOS skin packs in OPPO's 'AI Beauty Recognition Technology', which is designed to personalize beautification for subjects in your selfies, and OPPO seems to think it works great. In addition to that, the OPPO F5 also comes with 'Facial Unlock', which, as its name says, is expected to recognize your face when you look at the device, and based on it, give you access to the device. The OPPO F5 comes in black, gold and red color variants, though it seems like the red variant is reserved for the 6GB RAM model. The OPPO F5 will reach the Philippines first, and the base model will launch first, the 6GB RAM model will arrive later on. The OPPO F5 will also roll out in India, Russia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, and the phone is expected to hit all of these markets by the end of this month. The OPPO F5's pricing starts at $305 in the Philippines, and the based model is already available for pre-order in the country, while it will go on sale on November 4.
