Google's first pair of headphones, the Pixel Buds, were announced earlier this month along with the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL and a few other products from the search giant, and now they are available for pre-order at Verizon. Now, it does appear that Verizon has these backordered right now, so you likely won't be getting them in the next few days, but luckily, Verizon is allowing you to go ahead and still make your order and it'll ship once it's available.
The Google Pixel Buds are available for $159, which is about the price of most wireless earbuds these days, although they do venture into the truly wireless price range even though they aren't truly wireless. These wireless earbuds are much like many of the other wireless earbuds out there on the market from Beats, Bose, Jaybird and others. However the one feature that really sets the Pixel Buds apart from others, is the fact that you get real-time Google Translate in your ears. This is a very nice feature to have if you are in a foreign country and don't speak the language, the Pixel Buds can hear what is being said and translate it to you, then you can talk to the Pixel Buds and it'll translate it back into the original language, which is a really neat feature. And this works with over 40 different languages right now, with plenty more on the way. Battery life on the Pixel Buds are a bit mediocre though, with it rated at about 5 hours of continuous playback, considering others in its price range are closer to 8-10 hours, that's not the best.
There is Google Assistant support in the Pixel buds as well, so you can talk to the Assistant and tell it to do things like adjust your lights, or ask how the weather is and such. Otherwise, you can still listen to music, audiobooks, podcasts and more through the Pixel Buds, and since the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL don't have headphone jacks, this is a great pair of headphones to pick up as well. And Google has made these in the same colors as the Pixel 2. Which includes Just Black, Clearly White and Kinda Blue.
