'Full-Screen' OPPO F5 To Launch In India With AI Selfie Tech

The OPPO F5 will be announced on October 26, the company’s leaked teaser for the event more or less confirmed that, and now a new report regarding this handset has surfaced, along with some new images of the phone. OPPO has just confirmed that the OPPO F5 will reach India and Southeast Asia markets including Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand. The company also said that the phone will reach all of those markets soon after it gets announced in the Philippines.

Now, the OPPO F5 will be a ‘bezel-free’ smartphone, it will have some bezels, of course, but those bezels will be quite thin it seems. If you take a look at the images down below, you will get to see several renders of this smartphone, which are suggesting that it will resemble the Galaxy S8. The phone’s display will sport rounded corners, while the power / lock key will be placed on the right-hand side of this smartphone. Volume up and volume down keys will be included on the left-hand side of the OPPO F5, and the device will not sport any physical keys on its front side, it will utilize on-screen buttons. This smartphone will sport a single camera on its front side, but this new report claims that OPPO will actually pack in the AI Beauty Recognition technology in this smartphone, which will use AI to recognize skin tone and type, and also the gender and age of the subject(s) it’s taking an image off. Based on that info, the phone will analyze environment’s lighting conditions, and based on that, it will do its best to provide you with a perfect selfie.

OPPO actually confirmed that this AI tech will scan more than 200 facial recognition spots, and it will also self-learn and enhance each shot, so the more selfies you take, the better this technology will get, according to OPPO. According to rumors, the OPPO F5 will sport a 6-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, along with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of native storage. The device is rumored to ship with the Snapdragon 630 or 660 SoC, and a 4,000mAh battery had also been mentioned in several rumors thus far. This phone is also expected to sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, in case you were wondering.
