The Amazon Echo Dot has returned to Black Friday pricing today, and today only. Amazon has dropped 20% off of its price, bringing it down to just $39.99, from its original price of $49.99. Typically this pricing is only seen on big shopping days like Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Prime Day. So this is a pretty big deal.
Amazon's Echo Dot is its smallest, and cheapest Echo right now. It's about the size of a hockey puck and can do everything you'd expect an Echo to do. It has Alexa built-in, giving you access to thousands of different skills, with plenty more being added nearly daily. Alexa's skills include things like reading you the latest news, turning on the lights in your home, or even ordering you some food from GrubHub. The Echo Dot is also a speaker, although not a great one. Luckily, Amazon does have a 3.5mm jack there for connecting to another speaker, or you can connect over Bluetooth. The Amazon Echo Dot is a great way to spread Alexa around your home and have the assistant available everywhere you go.
This is also eligible for Amazon Prime's free shipping. Which includes free two-day shipping, and pretty cheap next-day shipping if you need it here extra fast. If you are not an Amazon Prime member yet, you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime by hitting the link below. You'll get 30 days free (if you're a student, you get 6 months), and then it's $99/year. Prime members do get a whole lot more than just free shipping though, so be sure to check out the full benefits.
