Budget Nokia 2 Announced In India With A 4,100mAh Battery

HMD Global has just announced yet another Android-powered, Nokia-branded smartphone, the Nokia 2. This handset has been leaking out for quite some time now, and it has been announced in India, which HMD Global expects it will become one of the Nokia 2’s main markets. The device was announced during HMD Global’s press event in the country, and this is an entry-level handset, which comes with a really big battery, read on.

The Nokia 2 is made of metal and polycarbonate (plastic), its frame is made out of 6000 series aluminum, while it comes with a polycarbonate back plate. The phone sports a single camera on the back, and all of its physical keys can be found on the right. Nokia’s logo is present on both the back and front side of this handset, and this handset doesn’t exactly have thin bezels, though that was to be expected considering its price point, which we’ll talk about soon. The Nokia 2 sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) LTPS display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 212 64-bit quad-core processor, while the Adreno 304 GPU is also included on this chip. The Nokia 2 comes with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 8GB of expandable storage, while it also offers two SIM card slots. An 8-megapixel snapper can be found on the back of this phone, while an LED flash is placed right below it. A 5-megapixel snapper is placed on the front side of this phone, while you’ll get a 3.5mm headphone jack along with the Nokia 2 as well. A 4,100mAh battery pack is included in this package as well, and the Nokia 2 is IP52 certified which means it is splash proof.

Android 7.1.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Nokia 2, Android 8.0 Oreo update is on the way. The Nokia 2 measures 143.5 x 71.3 x 9.30mm, while you’re also getting 4G LTE VoLTE here, and also Bluetooth 4.1. The Nokia 2 comes in Pewter Black, Pewter White and Copper Black color variants, and the company said that it will become available for purchase starting from mid-November, though an exact date was not given. As far as the price is concerned, Nokia sad that the Nokia 2 will be available for a global average price of €99.
