Sony's Xperia L1 has hit the UK and Europe and is now available for purchase through Sony's online store. For UK buyers, the phone will cost £169 making this one of the least costly devices to ever come out of Sony as its devices tend to float towards the high-end and come with a heftier price tag. For consumers in Europe the price won't be much different and will be available for €199, also through Sony's online store. The phone will also be available in three different colors and it looks to be the same across Europe and the UK, with options including Black, White, and a Pink color.
It's not immediately clear if the Xperia L1 will be available in every European country that Sony's online store can be accessed from, but it is available in France, Germany, and a few others so chances are that if the country is listed on Sony's website under Europe, the phone will be available to buy, assuming it's not already out of stock.
The Xperia L1 was suspected to hit the UK this month as it was rumored back in April, but at the time it wasn't immediately clear what the dates would be and in that report it didn't mention anything about Europe. It seems that the leaked details were correct as Sony now has the phone up for sale, though where all it goes on sale outside of Sony's own online shop in both regions is still unknown. Having said that, the details from April about the phone launching in the UK in June came from Clove, a UK-based retailer, and it would seem the Xperia L1 is already available to buy there as well, and it seems it's also live on Amazon UK so it's likely that the phone is available in numerous retailers across the country. Today's launch of the Xperia L1 in the UK and in numerous European countries follows the launch of the Sony Xperia L1 in the US, which went up for sale on Amazon and B&H Photo back on May 11th. Like all of Sony's devices the Xperia L1 comes unlocked supporting GSM networks, which means it can be used pretty much anywhere.
