Retail Box For The OnePlus 5 Leaks, Confirming Dual Cameras

It seems the OnePlus 5 will indeed come with dual cameras. At least, according to a new image that has now surfaced online (courtesy of Android Authority) and said to be of the retail packaging for the OnePlus 5. While the image itself does not provide a view of the smartphone (or its dual cameras), the tagline on show, along the side of the box, reads as follows: Dual Camera. Clearer Photos. So providing the image is accurate, and this is the packaging for the OnePlus 5, then it will indeed come with a dual rear camera setup. Although this does not quite settle the debate as to whether the dual cameras will be positioned horizontally, or vertically.

According to the tipster linked with the image, the ‘Dual Camera. Clearer Photos.’ tagline is actually the tagline that OnePlus will be pushing with the launch of the OnePlus 5. So needless to say, the camera abilities in general are likely to be what OnePlus focuses on this year, with the OnePlus 5 positioned as a premium smartphone camera product. Which is in line with other details that have been coming through of late. OnePlus itself teased an image recently which looked to showcase the camera abilities of the phone, and so it does seem as though the OnePlus 5 will be all about the cameras.

Which does lead to the question of what else will be on offer with the OnePlus 5? OnePlus has already confirmed that the OnePlus 5 will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, as well as suggesting that this smartphone will be the thinnest flagship of 2017. Those semi-confirmed points aside, speculation is rife about the RAM account, with some suggestions having been made that the OnePlus 5 will come with 8GB RAM. Other than that, it seems as though the screen size will remain static at 5.5-inches, and it also seems to be the case that the resolution will remain static at 1920 x 1080 as well. As for the price, that remains an unknown although some expect this one to be the most expensive OnePlus smartphone to date. While in terms of when, rumors suggest a June 15 unveil date.
