Vivo X9s Plus With Dual Front Cameras Certified By TENAA

China’s electronics regulatory agency, TENAA, has officially certified an upcoming Vivo smartphone called the X9s Plus that has often been rumored in the online tech media in recent times. As can be seen from the images, the device will come with a physical Home Button, and have dual front-facing selfie cams, as has been revealed in earlier leaks. While there’s no official word from the Chinese smartphone-maker about its upcoming device, the Vivo X9s Plus will very likely be a premium mid-ranger going by the listed specs on TENAA, and is believed to be a follow-up to the Vivo X9 Plus that was unveiled in China last November alongside the Vivo X9 and the Vivo Xplay 6.

According to the listing, the Vivo X9s Plus will feature a 5.85-inch 1080p display, and ship with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device will be powered by a CPU clocked at 1.95GHz, although, the exact make and model of the SoC hasn’t been revealed on TENAA. As is the case with the entire Vivo X9 lineup, the X9s Plus will also be a selfie-oriented smartphone, and will offer a 20-megapixel front-facing camera alongside an 8-megapixel sensor that is expected to enhance the depth-of-field effect. The solitary rear-facing camera will be a 16-megapixel unit, but it remains to be seen if it’s the same Sony IMX376 sensor that can be found in the two other devices in the Vivo X9 lineup.

As for the rest of the tech specs, the listing reveals that the upcoming smartphone will support both TD-LTE and FD-LTE on a number of bands, and will have support for VoLTE (Voice over LTE) out-of-the-box. Other connectivity options will include Bluetooth, USB and Wi-Fi. On the software side of things, the Vivo X9s Plus will have Android 7.1.1 Nougat pre-installed, while a 3,920mAh battery will keep the lights on. One important point to note here is that the Vivo X9 Plus from last year has a much larger 4,000mAh battery, so it will be interesting to see whether the company will really reduce the battery capacity so drastically in its upcoming offering. There’s no word currently on either the release date or the pricing of the Vivo X9s Plus, but expect more info in the days to come.
