The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was announced in China yesterday, and prior to that announcement, Manu Kumar Jain released a rather interesting tweet. Manu Kumar Jain, for those of you who do not know, is Xiaomi's number one man in India, he's heading Xiaomi's India unit. That being said, this is what he wrote in his tweet: "23 Jan: 250K+ #RedmiNote4. 23 Mar: 250K+ #Redmi4A. 23 May: 250K+ #Redmi4, Any suggestions on what we should do on 23rd July? @XiaomiIndia". He talked about the devices Xiaomi launched earlier this year, and shared some sales numbers as well. At the end of this tweet, he suggested that a new smartphone is coming on July 23, and the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is the only device that comes to mind, while Manu Kumar Jain's timing also seems perfect for that reveal.
Xiaomi's devices usually find their way to India, sooner or later, though it usually takes Xiaomi at least couple of months to release a phone in India after it launched in China, and it seems like the same will happen with the Xiaomi Mi Max. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is the company's all-new phablet, which is just as big as its predecessor, at least if we look at its display. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is made out of metal, it comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and it sports a huge 6.44-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is fueled by the Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core processor, while it packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of expandable native storage. The device features a 12-megapixel shooter on the back, while a 5-megapixel camera can be found on its front side. A beefy 5,300mAh battery is also included in this package, and it is not removable, in case you were wondering.
This phone also offers an IR blaster, while it comes with stereo speakers as well. Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and on top of it, you'll be able to find Xiaomi's MIUI 8 OS. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 had been announced in a Gold color option only, though additional color variants might launch in the coming months. UPDATE: The Xiaomi Mi 6 is also a valid option (to launch on a said date), despite the fact some rumors are saying that it won't launch in India at all.
