Seamless' Alexa Skill Makes It Easy to Reorder Food

Yet another Alexa skill has just made its way to the Amazon Echo, Amazon Tap and Echo Dot (and other Alexa-enabled products). This time it's from Seamless. This new skill is going to allow you to reorder one of your recent orders from Seamless without having to get up off of the couch or even touch your smartphone. Simply say "Alexa, tell Seamless I'm Hungry" and Alexa will bring you into the Seamless skill and list off your recent orders, any of which you can reorder. Alexa isn't yet sophisticated enough to take your order, unless you have ordered it in the past. That should be something coming in the near future though.

Seamless is part of Grubhub, so you can easily order food from a number of restaurants in your city, or the city you are visiting. Some do deliver, but many others require you to pick up the order. With this new Alexa skill, Alexa will tell you the estimated time until your food is delivered, if applicable. Otherwise, it'll tell you how long before it'll be ready to be picked up. You can pick and choose what kind of food you order, whether you want some pizza, or maybe some Thai, or even some Mediterranean food, Seamless likely has what you are looking for.

The Alexa skill is easy to find and get set up. Simply head to Amazon.com, or you can open your Alexa app on your smartphone and go to the Skills section. Search for "Seamless" and enable it. You will need to sign into Seamless so that Alexa can pull in your previous orders, as well as place and pay for your orders seamlessly (pun intended). After that, you're good to go. You can start telling Alexa to order you food, if you don't feel like getting up off of the couch or out of bed to do so. This works on any Alexa-enabled device, which includes things like the Amazon Fire TV, Fire tablet, the Huawei Mate 9 and even the Ford Fusion. Which is a pretty cool way to use this skill. While you're driving, order food and pick it up on your way home, all without having to take your eyes off of the road.
