LG has today confirmed the start of the launch process for its latest power-providing smartphone, the LG X power2. While LG has not provided firm details on availability, it has confirmed that the X power2 will begin to become available this month, slightly ahead of the June expected time that had previous been reported on. In terms of the rolling out of the availability, the X power 2 will first become available in North America. Following which, the X power2 will become further available in select 'key markets' including Asia, Europe, Latin America, among others. No further details were provided on when the X power2 will become available in those other markets, or at what price. With LG announcing that firm pricing and detailed availability will be confirmed for each market in due course.
This is a smartphone that was first announced and introduced by LG at MWC 2017 and its key selling point is its battery. As this is a smartphone that comes loaded with a 4,500 mAh capacity battery. LG specifically notes that the X power2 is able to offer up to 26 hours of talk time, or 19 hours of web browsing, or 18 hours of video viewing. Making this an ideal solution for those looking for a longer-lasting smartphone, or one which is able to account for more demanding content, like video playback and gaming. Speaking of which, while the battery will provide users with enough juice to game or watch videos, according to LG, the screen is also designed to offer "an immersive viewing experience" and comes in the form of a 5.5-inch display with a 1280 x 720 resolution.
In terms of the cameras, the LG X Power 2 comes packing a 13-megapixel rear camera, as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera – which also employs the help of a wide angle lens to provide better selfies and groupfies. The rest of the main specs do somewhat depend on the region, as it is understood that the LG X power2 will be available in both 1.5GB and 2GB RAM versions. Although in either case, storage is set at 16GB, with both models offering the option to expand the storage when needed via microSD card. In addition to the X power2 coming powered by a 4,500 mAh battery, it is also set to arrive running Android 7.0 (Nougat).
