Elephone has just released a rather interesting image on its official Twitter page. If you take a look at the picture, you will see a really sleek-looking smartphone in it, and the Android 8.0 badge next to it. Now, in all honesty, this is probably just a concept image that the company shared, as they want users to guess which will be the first smartphone to ship with Android 8.0. Google still did not release Android 8.0, that version of Android is currently in beta, developer preview, to be quite honest, so Elephone is jumping the gun here a bit, but the phone that they shared is simply too good looking not to talk about.
As you can see, this phone is quite light on bezels, it has a really small chin below the display, while bezels are not present anywhere else, well, maybe above the display, but that bezel is so thin, that it’s almost not noticeable. The phone seems to sport an LED notification below the display, while its front-facing camera is placed in the lower right corner. The device seems to be made out of metal and glass, and it sports a dual camera setup on the back. This dual camera setup comes with a vertical alignment, and a dual-LED, dual-tone flash is placed right above those two cameras. The back of the device is curved, while it seems like this phone sports a flat display. All in all, this phone looks like a blend between the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Xiaomi Mi MIX, though, as already mentioned, this is probably just a concept design, even though it would be nice if Elephone actually managed to release something like this.
That being said, this China-based company did release some interesting devices thus far, the Elephone S7 was quite popular, though that phone was a clear copy of the Galaxy S7 Edge. The Elephone S8 has been leaking for quite some time now, and it will resemble the Xiaomi Mi MIX from what we’ve seen, but the company still didn’t announce it. In any case, you can expect the device to sport really thin bezels, and a chin below the display, while it will probably sport a front-facing fingerprint scanner as well. So, if the device that Elephone shared is actually in development, then maybe we’re looking at the planned Elephone S9? Who knows, it’s possible, though chances are this is just a concept. Now, it’s also worth noting that June 23 is mentioned on the phone’s display, so… is Elephone trying to tell us something? Well, we doubt that this phone will get announced, but who knows.
