Coolpad Unveils Cool Play 6 Smartphone, 6GB Of RAM In Tow

Coolpad has just introduced a new smartphone in China, the Cool Play 6. This handset comes with a really interesting spec sheet, while its price is not that high, which was to be expected. In any case, as you can see in the provided images, this phone is made out of metal, and it comes with a dual camera setup on its back. A fingerprint scanner is also placed on the back of the device, and so is the company’s branding. The volume up, volume down and power / lock buttons can be found on the right-hand side of the device, and a 3.5mm headphone jack is placed on the very top of the device. This phone also comes with a dual-LED, dual-tone flash sensor which is located next to its rear-facing cameras.

Now, as far as its specs are concerned, this is a very compelling device. The Cool Play 6 features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with a whopping 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 653 64-bit octa-core processor, and the Adreno 510 GPU for graphics processing. There are two 13-megapixel snappers placed on the back of the phone, while you’ll be able to find an 8-megapixel shooter on the device’s front side. A Type-C USB port is located on the bottom of the phone, and the device comes with a 4,060mAh non-removable battery. Android 7.1.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Cool Play 6 handset, and on top of it, you’re getting Coolpad’s custom UI.

The Coolpad Cool Play 6 comes in both Black and Gold color variants, as you can see in the provided images, and the phone is priced at 1,499 Yuan in China. The device will become available for purchase in China starting from May 16, and it is possible that the device will become available in some other regions, like India for example, but we still do not know when or will that happen at all, as the company did not release any additional info just yet. All in all, you can consider this smartphone to be a more affordable alternative to the company’s Cool Changer S1 flagship which launched back in October last year.
