There are loads of great smartphones on the market right now, and there's always some new accessories to pick up and use with your new smartphone. Whether that be a Bluetooth speaker, a pair of headphones, a new case or even some smart home products like light bulbs and thermostats. We've rounded up the top best accessories – some are new, some are not so new – for your smartphone for the month of May, so let's check them out.
Anker SoundCore 2
This Bluetooth speaker is brand new, it just launched this week. It's the successor to Anker's well-known and best-seller, the SoundCore Bluetooth speaker. It offers up 24 hours of battery life, which is great, as you can likely go a few days before needing to recharge the SoundCore 2, even if you use it all day long for streaming music. It's also rated at IPX5 for water resistance.
Withings Steel HR
If you're looking for a fitness tracker, but don't want it to scream "fitness tracker" than the Withings Steel HR is a good one to check out. It looks like a typical analog watch, but it does have all of the typical fitness tracking features you'd expect from a wearable. It can track your steps, your workouts, calories burned and even your sleep. Best of all, the battery here lasts for up to 25 days, which is far more than most wearables, even Fitbit's latest and greatest.
LIFX (A19) Wi-Fi Smart LED Light Bulb
The LIFX smart LED Light Bulb here is a great light bulb to pick up to make your home a bit smarter. These are color bulbs, so they can be used for hundreds of different colors. Additionally, it works over Wi-Fi, which means you can use your smartphone to control the brightness, the color, and even set a schedule for when they should turn on. Finally, LIFX's bulbs are compatible with both Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant, so you can control your lights with your voice.
Amazon Echo Show
This is the latest product from Amazon in the Echo line up. You can think of it as an Amazon Echo, but with a large display. So Alexa is still built in, which means you'll be able to ask Alexa for the weather, use her to control your smart home and much more. But with the addition of a display, it makes it easier to use Alexa for a recipe, and even check in on your Nest Cam's feed.
Tronsmart Presto 10000mAh Ultra Slim External Battery
Tronsmart has made a super thin battery pack here in the Presto 10000mAh. We've actually already reviewed it, and absolutely love this battery pack. Mostly because it is so thin and lightweight, but it does also have Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 included. Allowing users to quickly charge up their devices without being stuck next to a wall outlet all day.
Samsung Gear 360 (2017 Edition)
Samsung's Gear 360 recently launched (just this week actually), and it's the second-generation 360-degree camera. It's about half the price of the original and much smaller. But it still offers some pretty impressive 360-degree video and pictures. Unfortunately it does only work with select Samsung devices right now. So if you just picked up the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus, this is a great camera to grab.
AUKEY Car Charger with 5V/3A USB C & Quick Charge 3.0 Dual-Port
AUKEY's dual-port car charger here is another great product to pick up. It's dual-port, however one of those ports is USB-C. The USB-C port does not use Quick Charge 3.0, but it does do fast charging at 5V/3A, which is still fast enough to charge devices like the Huawei Mate 9. Now the other port is a USB-A port and it does do Quick Charge 3.0, it's also backwards compatible.
CHOETECH USB A to USB C Cable (3-Pack)
With many smartphones coming with USB-C ports lately, many people are going to need to pick up new cables to charge their smartphones in the car, at their office and elsewhere. CHOETECH has a three pack of braided USB-C to USB-A cables here, that look great, but also do their job. And since they are braided, they are a bit more durable than a lot of the other USB-C cables on the market right now.
Maxboost [2 Pack] Universal Air Vent Magnetic Car Mount
Maxboost has a pretty small car mount here, this one attaches to the air vent in your car and allows you to mount your phone while keeping it out of the way. And this is a two-pack, so you can have one in your car and one in your significant other's car as well. It does use magnets to hold your phone in place, but that won't damage your smartphone or tablet. So no worries there.
Samsung Gear S3 Frontier
Interested in a smartwatch? The Gear S3 Frontier from Samsung is one of the best out there. It is running on Tizen, but it does work with Android devices (outside of Samsung's products). The Gear S3 Frontier is a bit of a big smartwatch, but it can last a few days. It also has a rotating bezel, which makes it easier to navigate through the OS on your wrist. There are plenty of apps available including Uber, Evernote and many others.
