Fans of the famous rock band The Beatles can now take a look at where they first started before hitting success and this is all made possible by Google Earth's Voyager. The guided tour covers the significant places where the 60's iconic band's legendary career has started. The Beatles includes members Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, and this year marks the 50th anniversary of their hit album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." The rock band is tagged as “the foremost and most influential act" in the rock genre.
They have created over 400 songs with 237 as their original compositions and the remaining as their cover songs. Created in Abbey Road Studios, the legendary band's eighth album was first released in 1967 and it features popular classic songs such as "With A Little Help From My Friends," "Within You Without You," and "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds." Google's Voyager has re-lived not only the ever popular recording but also the entirety of the rock band's huge contributions to the music industry.
The added feature of Google Earth's "Voyager" has made a simulated tour of nine various places around the world possible. These places are the most important ones to the Beatle's career and it begins at the Liverpool’s iconic Cavern Club, traveling virtually to other significant places such as Hamburg, Germany where they performed for 48 consecutive days. It also includes New York where the band has made their first TV appearance live; and Rishikesh, India where the rock group has experienced spiritual rebirth. Meanwhile, the journey finishes at Strawberry Fields in New York’s Central Park. Google Earth is a free computer program that allows access to geographic data. It shows satellite images of the Earth's surface which is acquired from aerial photography, satellite imagery, and geographic information system or GIS. To make the experience richer, it added Voyager - a feature that lets users take on guided tours that are directed by experts such as documentarians and scientists. The storytelling medium is an easy way to explore different locations while gaining information and stories about them.
