ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom Now Available in the US for $329

The ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom has finally made its way to the US, after ASUS had announced that the higher-end version of this device wouldn't be available in the US. Likely due to the fact that the last ZenFone Zoom didn't sell as well as the company may have hoped. The ZenFone 3 Zoom is now available at Amazon, B&H Photo and Newegg, and it's shipping now.

Like most other smartphones, the ZenFone 3 Zoom uses two cameras on the back. They are both 12-megapixel sensors, although the second one is a telephoto lens at 59mm. This helps with adding better zoom on the ZenFone 3 Zoom, without making the smartphone overly large, like the original ZenFone Zoom was. These lenses are 1.4um pixel size, which allows for more light to come in and offer up better pictures, especially in low light. Additionally, they sport aperture f/1.7 which is also great for getting plenty of light, but also great depth of field. The higher aperture is what helps make that great looking bokeh effect, something that many smartphones are aiming for these days.

Other specs of the ZenFone 3 Zoom include a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 resolution AMOLED display, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 and 3GB of RAM inside. There is also 32GB of onboard storage, along with a micro SD card slot for expanding that storage. Of course there is also a massive 5,000mAh battery inside which will keep the ZenFone 3 Zoom going all day long, especially with that very power efficient Snapdragon 625 inside. All of this fits into a frame that is just 7.9mm thick, something that ASUS is very proud of, especially considering how large the predecessor was.

The ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom is being sold as a GSM unlocked smartphone, so it will work on AT&T and T-Mobile in the US, but Verizon and Sprint are not supported, as is usually the case. The ZenFone 3 Zoom is now shipping, and many retailers are offering up free shipping (and in the case of B&H Photo, they are offering up free expedited shipping).
