Xiaomi To Unveil Several Products During Mi 6's Press Event

Mijia is Xiaomi’s sub-brand, and it seems like the company confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 6 is not the only device that will be announced at Xiaomi’s event tomorrow. As most of you know by now, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will land tomorrow, April 19, it will be announced by Xiaomi in China as the company’s all-new flagship smartphone. The Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus will probably launch alongside the base model of the smartphone, and the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 might also arrive next to the two Mi 6 handsets.

That being said, Mijia shared a rather interesting post on their official Weibo (Chinese social network) page, the company basically asked consumers which device do they think Mijia / Xiaomi will announce on April 19. They offered earphones, some sort of a speaker and a TV as possible answers. Now, Mijia probably won’t announce all three of those products, but based on this, we will definitely get some additional hardware. This company introduced a number of devices thus far, ranging from a walkie-talkie and a home camera, all the way to the smart home security kit and the panorama action camera. New, non-smartphone products, were to be expected, though, as this will be one of Xiaomi’s largest press conferences this year. Xiaomi was actually expected to introduce the Xiaomi Mi 6 during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC), as the Mi 5 was announced during MWC last year, but Xiaomi opted not to come to MWC 2017 at all, and to unveil the Mi 5 in China instead.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 will be made out of metal and glass, if rumors are to be believed, and you can expect to see a dual camera setup on the back of the device, that is something Xiaomi confirmed via teasers. Android Nougat will come pre-installed on the Mi 6, and the device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor. The Mi 6 will sport a 5.15-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display it seems, while the Mi 6 Plus might ship with a 5.7-inch fullHD or QHD panel, we’ll see. All in all, Xiaomi’s event is in less than 24 hours, so stay tuned, chances are more info will leak during the day.
