VAUX Battery-Powered Echo Dot Speaker Now Available For $49

VAUX speaker for Amazon's Echo Dot devices is now available for purchase and is shipping to customers who pre-ordered it in March, Ninety7 announced on Thursday. The Palo Alto, California-based Internet of Things (IoT) startup says its latest product is the first battery-powered Echo Dot speaker ever made, noting that the device was designed specifically for the second generation of Amazon's Internet-enabled speakers. VAUX is available for purchase directly from Ninety7's website, priced at $49. The Echo Dot-compatible speaker is currently being offered in Carbon and Ash colors and there's currently no indication that the California-based IoT company will be offering its latest products in more variants at some point in the future.

Being a battery-powered device, VAUX was designed to allow owners of Amazon's Echo Dot to freely carry their smart speaker around the house, i.e. carry their Internet-enabled speaker in a dock. In addition to that, the product is set to offer a higher level of audio quality than Amazon's own speaker, Ninety7 claims, adding that VAUX also ships with a 3.5mm audio port that can be used for connecting headphones or compatible mobile devices to the company's portable speaker. VAUX doesn't require a complicated setup procedure and can be used as soon as it's powered and connected to the Echo Dot. Amazon's speaker is inserted into the top of Ninety7's latest product and is powered by an internal battery of the device. Apart from serving as a portable dock for the Echo Dot, VAUX was also designed to help your Alexa-infused speaker blend in with your home decor as it's able to mask it almost completely.

Back when it originally announced VAUX, the California-based consumer electronics manufacturer said the device will start shipping in early April, but the product ended up missing that release window. While it's unclear what caused the short delay, VAUX is now available for purchase at last and is shipping to customers across the United States. The product still isn't being sold on Amazon and can currently only be purchased directly from Ninety7's website that you can access by following the source link below.
