Santa Monica, California-based manufacturer of smartphone accessories X-Doria announced its new lineup of protective cases for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, Samsung's latest pair of Android flagships that the South Korean tech giant unveiled earlier today. The company debuted three case collections in total — Defense Lux, Defense Shield, and Defense Clear — and all of them are said to boast an optimal balance of style and durability.
The X-Doria Defense Lux is a single-piece case that snaps onto the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, featuring soft rubber on the inside and polycarbonate on the backside, as well as an aluminum outer frame that's both durable and light. The company claims that the Defense Lux exceeds military drop test standards as the case is capable of protecting the device from drops on concrete from up to ten feet, i.e. a little over three meters. The back panel of the case is available in Black Leather, Black Carbon Fiber, and Rosewood. Depending on your choice, this accessory will set you back between $34.99 and $39.99. The X-Doria Defense Shield — available in Black, Rose Gold, and Iridescent — is similar to the Defense Lux in terms of features and materials, though it sports a more robust look and a lower price tag of $24.99. The same goes for the X-Doria Defense Clear, a transparent case boasting triple layer shock protection that's available in Black and White for both the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus. Just like the Defense Shield, the Defense Clear protective case is priced at $24.99.
