Specs: Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus

Samsung has introduced their all-new flagship today, the Galaxy S8, but along with that handset, the company also announced the Galaxy S8 Plus, its larger sibling. The two devices are identical when it comes to design and almost identical when it comes to specs. The only difference between the two phones is the fact that the Galaxy S8 Plus is larger, has a larger display, and a bigger battery on the inside. That being said, we’ve already covered the announcement of the Galaxy S8 Plus on the site, and it’s time to take a look at the device’s specifications up close and personal, read on.

First and foremost, it’s worth mentioning that the Galaxy S8 Plus is made out of metal and glass, and that its display is curved on the sides. This smartphone comes with on-screen buttons, and has no physical home key on the front. This handset sports a 6.2-inch QHD (2560 x 1440, 529 PPI) Super AMOLED Dual Edge display, along with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of expandable native storage (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card). Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC will fuel this handset in some regions, while the Exynos 8895 will be in charge of that in some other countries, it will all depend on where you live, of course. A 12-megapixel Dual Pixel OIS shooter (f/1.7 aperture, 1.4um pixel size) is placed on the back of the Galaxy S8 Plus, and next to it you’ll notice a fingerprint scanner, an LED flash, and a heart rate sensor. The Galaxy S8 Plus also comes with Samsung’s all new Bixby virtual assistant, same as the Galaxy S8, and you can activate it by pressing a dedicated physical key on the left-hand side of this smartphone. This smartphone packs in Wi-Fi 802.11ac MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0 and LTE Cat. 16.

The Galaxy S8 Plus sports a 3,500mAh battery on the inside, and that battery is not removable. You are getting fast charge capabilities with the device, and the phone even supports fast wireless charging, which is a nice touch by Samsung. The Galaxy S8 Plus comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera (f/1.7 aperture), and the device is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Galaxy S8 Plus, and on top of it, you’re getting Samsung’s very own custom UI, of course. A 3.5mm headphone jack can be found on the top of the device, while you’ll notice a Type-C USB port on the bottom, and the phone’s loudspeaker as well. 4G LTE connectivity is, of course, included in this package, and the Galaxy S8 Plus measures 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1mm, while it weighs 173 grams.
