Silk & CM4 Unveil Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus Protective Cases

Austin, Texas-based makers of smartphone accessories Silk Innovation and CM4 have unveiled protective cases for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, Samsung's latest flagships that were unveiled in New York City earlier today. Silk Innovation announced the Base Grip Case while CM4 debuted the Q Card Case for the upcoming pair of handsets that are scheduled to hit the market next month. Both protective cases can already be purchased on Amazon by following the links below and their official renders are available for viewing in the gallery beneath this writing.

The Base Grip Case is described as both compact and affordable, featuring a unique grip design that Silk Innovation is currently trying to patent. The design of the accessory is said to provide users with a firm grip in all conditions, while the case itself is easily snapped onto the Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy S8 Plus, Silk Innovation claims. The corners of the case are air-cushioned and should be able to withstand most impacts, just like Silk Innovation's Screen Guard. All physical buttons of Samsung's latest pair of flagships are covered with additional knobs designed to protect them from impacts, dust particles, and water without impacting their usability. The Base Grip Case is available for purchase on Amazon in Blue Jade and Black Onyx, priced at $11.99. Silk Innovation says it's shipping the accessory with a screen protector and a lifetime warranty.

The CM4-made Q Card Case for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus is somewhat more expensive, but also more versatile than the Base Grip Case. Like its name suggests, CM4's latest offering wasn't only designed to protect your Android-powered smartphone, but also serve as a viable wallet. The accessory is made from high-quality fabric and rubber and features air-cushioned corners for impact absorption, in addition to shipping with a microfiber cleaning cloth and a Credit Card Kickstand, a unique feature that provides users with the option of using their plastic cards as rods for supporting either the Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy S8 Plus. The Q Card Case is already available for purchase from Amazon in Black Onyx, sporting a $24.99 price tag.
