It seems like Samsung is expecting Galaxy S8’s pre-orders to crush Galaxy Note 7’s numbers. According to a new report, which is based on information provided by industry sources, Samsung has decided to unveil subsidy plans to consumers earlier than usual, the company will reportedly do that during the pre-order period which will last between April 7 and April 17. Pre-ordered smartphones will be shipped on April 18th, before the phone officially goes on sale, and that will happen on April 21, if the provided info is accurate.

Now, in addition to that, Samsung is allegedly planning to kick off a nationwide hands-on event after they unveil the device in New York and London on March 29th. Now, the company received around 400,000 pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 7 in a 13-day pre-order period last year, and they’re expecting to crush that with the Galaxy S8, even though its pre-order period will last only 10 days. Chances are that Samsung will launch both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus on March 29th, so that will give users two phones to choose from, depending on their size preference, of course. It seems like Samsung is betting big on the Galaxy S8 as the company is looking to recover from the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco which cost them not only a ton of cash (over $6 billion), but also their reputation suffered because of it. Samsung will surely look to sell as many Galaxy S8 units as they possibly can before Apple introduces the iPhone 8 in September.

The Galaxy S8 will be made out of metal and glass, while its display will be curved, and the phone’s bezels will be very thin. Samsung’s upcoming flagship will be fueled by the Exynos 8895 and the Snapdragon 835, depending on in which market you purchase the phone. Android Nougat will come pre-installed on the device, and on top of it, you’ll get Samsung’s custom UI. The Galaxy S8 will ship with a dedicated physical Bixby AI button, which will be placed on the left-hand side of the device. Speaking of buttons, the Galaxy S8 will ship with on-screen keys, as the company is ditching the physical home key this time around. The Galaxy S8 announcement is 8 days away at this point, so stay tuned.
