The Samsung Galaxy S8 is all everyone is talking about these days, and that's not a big surprise seeing as the device is due to be announced later this month in New York City. Many rumors have been pointing towards the device being available on April 21st or the 28th, depending on the rumor or report you read and depending on the market. Now according to BGR, who has spoken with someone familiar with the situation, Canadians will be able to get their hands on the Galaxy S8 (and presumably the Galaxy S8 Plus) on April 28th.
Now this doesn't necessarily rule out the fact that the Galaxy S8 may be launching on April 21st. Seeing as Canada is typically around a week later than the US and even South Korea. It is a big market for Samsung, but not as big as South Korea and the US, which again is not a huge surprise. There's not much else known about its launch date in Canada at this point. But it wouldn't be too crazy to expect both devices to launch on every carrier in Canada as well as most retailers. As that is standard practice for Samsung these days, with their flagship devices. Pricing hasn't been announced either, but again, we should see something similar to what the Galaxy S7 or even the LG G6 is priced at.
The Galaxy S8 is rumored to be sporting a 5.8-inch 18:9 aspect ratio display, going the tall route, like LG. It'll also be sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, being the first commercially available smartphone with the Snapdragon 835 inside. It'll have 4GB of RAM as well as 64GB of storage and a micro SD card slot for expanding said storage. The Galaxy S8 Plus is pretty similar, as far as specs go, but with a larger 6.3-inch display. The two devices are said to be launching in mid-April after being announced on March 29th in New York City. While Canada is supposedly getting the two devices on April 28th, it's still unconfirmed, so it's important to take this all with a grain of salt for now.
