Online Retailer Now Selling The Moto G5 In The UK For £169

The unlocked, SIM-free version of the Moto G5 smartphone is now up for purchase in the U.K. The device has been listed by online retailer Unlocked Mobiles at a price of £168.98 ($205) including VAT. While potential buyers can choose between Fine Gold and Lunar Grey colors, it looks like only the 16GB version is up for sale right now. The device is said to be already in stock, and the retailer is promising Same Day Dispatch and Next Day Delivery within the U.K. It isn’t immediately clear whether the Moto G5 Plus has also been listed for sale by the retailer, but it looks as though only the smaller and cheaper device is currently listed, so those waiting on the larger, more premium handset, might have to wait a little longer.

The fifth-generation Moto G series, which includes the mid-range Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones, was announced by Lenovo during MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. While the Moto G5 Plus is the more premium of the two devices and comes with more powerful hardware, the smaller and relatively less-powerful Moto G5 does have a lower price-tag as compared to its more premium sibling. The Moto G5 features a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, which comes with an octa-core 1.4 GHz CPU and an Adreno 505 GPU. The phone packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage - which can be expanded by up to 128GB with a microSD card.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Motorola Moto G5 packs a 13-megapixel rear-facing primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture, PDAF (phase detection auto focus) and an LED flash. There’s also a 5-megapixel front shooter with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video chats. The device carries a 2,800 mAh removable battery and runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG and 4G LTE, while sensors include a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a proximity sensor and a magnetometer (e-compass). The device weighs 145 grams and measures 144.30 mm in length, 73 mm in width and 9.5 mm in thickness.
