Official Power Bank Leaks Ahead Of Samsung Galaxy S8 Launch

If you're looking to buy Samsung's highly anticipated Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy S8 Plus but are concerned that the phone may not have enough power to live through the day, it looks like Samsung has you covered. The latest Galaxy S8-related leak pertains to the Samsung EB-PG950, which is Samsung's official power bank with 15W Fast Charging support. According to industry insider Roland Quandt, the power bank will be available in gray and blue, while the device is expected to retail for €60, i.e. $65.

The power bank features a 5,100mAh battery, which means that it can likely recharge the larger Galaxy S8 Plus and still have some juice left. According to recent leaks, the Galaxy S8 Plus is rumored to ship with a 3,500mAh battery, while the smaller Galaxy S8 is speculated to arrive with a 3,250mAh battery. However, that information still isn't set in stone, with some recent reports indicating that the Galaxy S8 will ship with the same 3,000mAh battery that was used to power the Galaxy S7. Even though the price may seem high for Samsung's official battery accessory, the good news is that the device can not only be quickly recharged, but it's also capable of quickly recharging your phone. The accessory reportedly supports USB Type-C, as well as the standard USB Type-A port, meaning you'll be able to use it with a wide variety of devices.

Regarding the Galaxy S8, Samsung's latest smartphone will allegedly be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and the Exynos 8895 system-on-chip, depending on the territory, in addition to sporting 4GB of RAM and 64GB to 128GB of internal storage space. The smaller variant is expected to sport a 5.8-inch screen while the larger one will likely launch with a 6.2-inch panel. Apart from having an iris scanner and boasting IP68 certification, the company's upcoming smartphones will also launch with Bixby, Samsung's new artificial intelligence (AI) assistant that was announced earlier this week. The South Korean tech giant previously confirmed it will officially unveil the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus at a special New York City event scheduled for March 29, so more details about the devices will certainly follow soon.
