MWC 2017: Hands-On With The DOOGEE Y6 Max 3D

The DOOGEE Y6 Max 3D is yet another metal-clad smartphone which comes to us from China. DOOGEE is showing off this smartphone at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, though the device was announced at the end of last year, and is already available for purchase, more on that later though. In any case, this handset actually has a rather unique feature up its sleeve, its "glasses free 3D display", as DOOGEE calls it.

As you can see, we’ve managed to get some hands-on time with this phablet in Barcelona. First and foremost, it is worth mentioning that the DOOGEE Y6 Max 3D is a huge smartphone, this device comes with a 6.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. As already mentioned, this is a 3D display, and it’s quite interesting. DOOGEE calls it “3D cylindrical grating LCD screen”, which essentially makes you see images with a parallax stereo effect. You should get a depth of feel when looking at this display, though that is possible only with a certain type of content that is being shown on the display, of course. A fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of this phablet, right below the rear-facing camera, and the dual-LED, dual-tone flash. The DOOGEE Y6 Max 3D packs in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable native storage. MediaTek’s MT6750 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this phablet and is clocked at 1.5GHz, while it ships with ARM’s Mali-T860 GPU for graphics.

A 13-megapixel shooter is placed on the back of this phablet, while you’ll be able to find a 5-megapixel snapper on its front side. A 4,300mAh battery is included here, and it is not removable. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the DOOGEE Y6 Max 3D, and there are two SIM card slots included in this phablet. 4G LTE connectivity is also possible with the DOOGEE Y6 Max 3D, while the phone measures 173 x 89 x 9mm, and weighs 259 grams. The DOOGEE Y6 Max 3D is available for purchase from Chinese resellers for around $160, and if you’re interested, you can pick one up by utilizing the link down below.
