Moto G5 Plus Gets Announced In India, Android Nougat In Tow

The Moto G5 Plus has just been announced in India. This smartphone was originally introduced last month during MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona, and is Motorola’s mid-range offering for 2017. The Moto G5 Plus was announced alongside the Moto G5 in Barcelona, though interestingly enough, only the Moto G5 Plus got announced in India today. That being said, this is the same exact smartphone that the company introduced last month, which was to be expected, read on.

During the press conference, the company said that they’ve managed to sell over 6 million ‘Moto G’ handsets in India since the launch of the first Moto G handset back in 2014. That being said, the Moto G5 Plus comes to India in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold color variants, while the device’s 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM variants cost Rs. 14,999 ($229) and Rs. 16,999 ($259), respectively. The more affordable Moto G5 Plus variant comes with 16GB of internal storage, while the 4GB RAM model ships with 32GB of storage. The Moto G5 Plus will become available later today (midnight) in India, exclusively through Flipkart, just in case you’re interested in picking one up. We still don’t have any info regarding the launch of the Moto G5, but that handset will probably land in India as well at some point.

The Moto G5 Plus is a metal-clad smartphone which sports a fingerprint scanner below its display. The phone sports a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and the device’s internal storage can be expanded via a microSD card up to 128GB. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels the Moto G5 Plus along with the Adreno 506 GPU. A 12-megapixel shooter is placed on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found on its front side. A 3,000mAh battery is also included in this package, and it comes with Turbo Charging. The Moto G5 Plus comes with a water repellent nano-coating, and there are two SIM card slots inside of this phone. Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed on the device, and a 3.5mm headphone jack is also a part of this package. The device measures 150.2 x 74 x 7.7-9-7mm, while it weighs 155 grams.
