Maintaining a home can be a real hassle when things stop working the way they were intended to, but an application called ClipCall is seeking to make finding professional help much easier and much more streamline. The app differs from other similarly-billed apps in that ClipCall actually acts as an end-to-end marketplace between prospective customers and professionals. Additionally, it uniquely makes use of machine learning and A.I. tools to aggregate and analyze data points, in a bid to ensure that customers have a better chance of actually getting the services that they are looking for and getting their household projects done. A.I. is apparently everywhere these days, and ClipCall uses those same tools to analyze the service professionals themselves and provide what the app calls a “Pro Quality Score” – which is compiled using data and feedback about those service providers. For example, it analyzes homeowner ratings, the amount of time it takes to get a response from a given professional, whether that professional has any no-shows or late arrivals, booking rates, and whether or not price quotes from a given provider tend to change once the professionals are on-site.
Those aren’t the only things that make ClipCall unique, either. The application gets its name from the fact that conversations between homeowners and service professionals are able to include video and image sharing – all done “in-app” – so that homeowners can get a more accurate quote about their project or assessment of their actual needs. In fact, the app can use video and photo to help determine which local professionals are best suited for the job too. Moreover, the app only points users to licensed, pre-screened businesses and offers a “Project Success Guarantee.” With the guarantee, money is held until the homeowners are completely satisfied that their project has been completed successfully. In addition to the free application, ClipCall offers a Prime Premium membership. The subscription service costs just under 10 bucks per month and covers maintenance inspections intended to help homeowners keep their houses in good repair, as well as providing discounts on repairs. The services covered by ClipCall cover the gamut for homeowners, including dog walking, tutors, plumbers, cleaners, DJs, handymen, electricians, and contractors.
The application’s features are only currently available in four major metropolia and their surrounding areas. Those include New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay, and Silicon Valley. Also included is the state of New Jersey. The service will likely continue to spread as more users sign on but, for now, it only services those areas and that’s unfortunate because ClipCall has a very high satisfaction rating currently reported by more than 90 percent of users. Additionally, more than 60 percent of business through ClipCall is from users who have already used the service at least once before. Those numbers are very difficult for any company to achieve under the best circumstances, which really speaks to the quality of service being provided here.
