Canada: LG Watch Style Google Store Waiting List Now Live

While consumers in the US have been able to enjoy the new LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style since the first part of February, those in Canada are still waiting for the arrival of the LG Watch Style, as promised by Google when launched. The smartwatch has been listed in the Canadian Google Store for the past couple of months, but Google has now added a “Join Waiting List” button so you can add your name to be notified when it is available for sale. While this still offers no hint as to when this will happen, the fact that a waiting list has cropped up is a good sign that the waiting may be over soon. So far, LG is only sending Canada the LG Watch Style, although it is hopeful that the more robust LG Watch Sport will also work its way into Canada as well. No Canadian pricing has been set, but the Watch Style sells in the US for about $250, which would translate to about $331 CAD.

The LG Watch Style and Watch Sport are the first smartwatches to be running the new Android Wear 2.0 out of the box. The LG Watch Style is the ‘light’ version of the two designs. It is going after those customers that want a watch and a few ‘smart’ features thrown into the design. It is lighter, thinner, and more comfortable for wearing as your everyday watch and is available in Rose Gold, Silver, and Titanium colors. You can change up the colorful straps to match different styles – much like matching your purse or shoes to your outfit - and are available in leather and silicone options. The LG Watch Style comes with a leather strap, charging cradle with a cable, and a travel adapter.

The specifications include a 1.20-inch full circle POLED display with a resolution of 360 x 360 and 299 pixels-per-inch (PPI) and protection by Gorilla Glass 3. The base is 316L stainless steel with dimensions of 1.7-inches or 42.3 mm and only 0.4-inches or 10.8 mm thick, weighing in at only 46 grams. A 240 mAh battery powers the smartwatch, along with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. It sports an audio microphone, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, an Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, a Gyroscope, and is IP67 water and dust-resistant.
