The LG Watch Sport Has A Non-Replaceable Watch Band

The LG Watch Sport has a non-replaceable watch band which might not sit well with those who want the freedom to customize the bands they wear for it, but there is a reason why the band is more or less fixed and will likely be the only watch band that will be usable with the watch, and that's because Google and LG designed the watch band to house all of the antennas. Google reportedly wasn't able to make everything fit into the watch and keep the watch slim in design unless they tucked everything into the band, and with the antennas being inside of it users won't be able to just take the band off and replace it, though the band is removable as it does house screws allowing it to be detached, however that isn't recommended due to the nature of the tech inside.

With all of the LG Watch Sport's wireless connectivity features relying on the antennas that are inside the band itself, consumers who choose the Watch Sport over the Watch Style are likely to be giving up any hope that Google or LG, or any third-party companies, will be launching alternate watch bands for it, which means any consumers who do pick it up will want to be comfortable with the watch the way that it is. Luckily for consumers who are interested in the LG Watch Sport, both Verizon and AT&T are going to be carrying the watch, so checking it out in store is an option and checking out the fit should help you decide whether or not you like the way it sits on your wrist and the way the materials feel during wear.

A non-replaceable watch band may not be entirely shocking to some users, as LG did use a similar design with the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE. While the band may not look the same for both watches, the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition also had screws on both sides of the watch lug on each end of the watch, and LG also placed the antennas for that watch inside the band as well. That being said, consumers were probably hoping for the LG Watch Sport to have replaceable bands so they could attach one that fits their personality, but that doesn't seem to be possible.
