Meizu Schedules MWC 2017 Event For February 28th

Meizu will be one of the companies that will travel to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona this year. The show is kicking off in only a couple of days, and a ton of companies already confirmed that they’ll be there, well, Meizu just made it official as well. The company said that they will unveil the latest achievements of their research and development on February 28th in Barcelona, starting at 10AM (CET). Meizu also mentioned that their booth is located in Hall 7, Stand 7K5, for those of you who happen to plan to travel to Barcelona.

This information came to us straight from the company, though Meizu also shared a teaser image on their official Facebook account. If you take a look at the image above this article, you’ll get to see a confirmation of what we said in the first paragraph, along with a ‘Faster Than Ever’ teaser. This is a rather mysterious teaser by Meizu, and quite frankly we’re not all that sure what will Meizu announce at MWC 2017. The company actually announced the Meizu M5s quite recently, and we did not see any other Meizu phone leaks or rumors lately, while it seems a bit early for the company to introduce the Meizu PRO 7. So, it is possible that they might talk about something other than smartphone launches, or perhaps re-launch one of their devices for the international market, who knows. Based on the ‘research and development’ part of Meizu’s statement, though, we might be in for something rather exciting.

The Meizu PRO 7 is Meizu’s upcoming flagship, and we did see a ton of rumors and leaks when it comes to this smartphone, though as already said, it might be a bit too early for Meizu to launch it. If the company plans to stick to last year’s release cycle, the Meizu PRO 7 will land in April. Having that in mind, Meizu did introduce a Ubuntu Edition of the Meizu PRO 5 at last year’s MWC, so they might do the same this year with the Meizu PRO 6 or Meizu PRO 6 Plus. We’re only guessing though, as nothing has been confirmed just yet. So, stay tuned, Meizu’s event is only 5 days away.
