Five new images said to be depicting the upcoming LG G6 Android flagship have surfaced online on Friday. The images show a device with no apparent LG branding, but one that features a USB Type-C port on the bottom and a 3.5mm audio jack on the top of a brushed metal case boasting a light blue hue. The alleged LG G6 sports a dual camera setup accompanied by a flash and located right above a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone. The fingerprint scanner will also apparently double as a power button, the images suggest. The device in question also features volume buttons on its left side and seemingly sports a set of speakers on the bottom.
The leaked images that can be seen below have originated from a South Korean outlet underKG which says it obtained them from an anonymous source, though their legitimacy hasn't been confirmed in any way. However, the device shown in these images looks identical to the one revealed by the other supposed LG G6 leak from yesterday, except for the fact that the color of its case is different. The previous leak revealed the "G6" branding on the bottom side of the phone's rear plate. That would explain why this latest set of leaks doesn't show any branding seeing how none of the images show the phone from that angle.
Recent rumors suggest that the LG G6 will feature a 5.7-inch display with an 18:9 ratio, meaning LG's upcoming Android flagship will be somewhat taller than regular phablets. Rumors from December indicated that the smartphone will ship with a non-removable battery, and this latest set of leaked images seemingly confirms that. It's still unclear whether the LG G6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 or one of Qualcomm's older chips because Samsung reportedly started hoarding Qualcomm's 10nm chipsets as the company is preparing to start mass-producing the Galaxy S8, which allegedly caused a shortage in the industry. However, recent rumors indicate that LG is looking to beat Samsung's upcoming flagship to the market with the LG G6, so regardless of the chip that's powering it, more information about the device is bound to surface soon. The South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer is expected to officially announce the LG G6 on February 26, right before Mobile World Congress 2017 officially starts.
