Google Home Bases Currently Available At 50% Off

Perhaps in celebration of the up-and-coming Valentine's Day holiday, Google is showing its consumers some love with 50% off discounts on their Base for Google Home. If you are one of the many who already owns a Google home device, have recently decided to order one after seeing their Super Bowl ad on Sunday, or if you have been on the fence about buying a hub for your connected home but your name is in any way similar to "Alexa" - then might be a good time to check out some of the Google Home customization options. The current sale runs from midnight on February 5 to midnight February 18, Pacific Time.

In simplest terms, Google Home itself is a "connected home" product that integrates with other smart devices and provides voice controls for those devices. The "base" of the Google Home effectively acts as both a speaker cover and a stand for the device. Google has put effort into providing a way for Google Home to more consistently fit the design and decor of user's homes. To that end, Base for Google Home is sold as an add-on customization option for the device. There are currently three options for both fabric and metal bases, and each of the six options nicely compliments the white-colored upper portion of the device. The cost of the fabric options is ordinarily $20, while the metal bases normally cost $40. Fabric options for the bases include more vibrant tones such as Mango, Marine, and Violet colors. The more premium metal bases are offered in more neutral tones, including Carbon, Copper, and Snow.  During the current sale, Google is offering fabric bases for $10 and the more premium bases for $20.

The leading competitor to Google's home integration device does come in both black and white variants. However, the arguably more well-integrated Amazon Echo does not come with any additional customization options and is more expensive by $50. This means that during the current sale, consumers can buy a brand new Google Home device and still have enough left over to buy all three of the fabric bases in addition to one of the metal bases.
