Did Samsung Display's TV Ad Just Reveal The Galaxy S8?

A rather interesting smartphone is featured in Samsung Display’s TV ad, could this be the Samsung Galaxy S8? If you take a look at the embedded video down below, you’ll be able to see Samsung Display’s TV ad. Needless to say, this ad is in Korean, so most of you probably won’t understand what the narrator is saying, but pay attention to the handset that the company used in this ad. This phone actually resembles some Galaxy S8 leaks that we’ve seen thus far, doesn’t it?

Now, do keep in mind that this could just be a reference design by Samsung, there’s a good chance it actually is a reference design, but on the other hand, this design goes hand-in-hand with most rumors and leaks we’ve seen lately. The company is expected to release the Galaxy S8 (and Galaxy S8 Plus) without the physical home button, and this device certainly does not have one. Its bezels are quite thin all around, though the display on this device does not seem to be curved, which could indicate that Samsung plans to release a flat display Galaxy S8 variant after all. The volume rocker keys are placed on the left-hand side of this device, as they were on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, while the power / lock key can be found on the right side of the device’s body.

So, would a company like Samsung be careless enough to show off their upcoming flagship in a TV ad like this? Well, probably not, there’s a pretty good chance this is just a reference design, but we won’t know for sure until Samsung unveils the Galaxy S8, and if rumors are to be believed, that will happen in April. Samsung is expected to introduce two variants of this smartphone, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, and the company will probably utilize two different SoCs (for different variants of these two devices), the Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895. Some rumors are even suggesting that the S Pen stylus could also be a part of the package, and it is rumored to ship with the Galaxy S8 Plus, or come as an option on the side. In addition to all this, you can expect Android Nougat to come pre-installed on the Galaxy S8, and needless to say, the phone will ship with top of the line specs.
