OPPO A57 Gets Announced In India With A 16MP Selfie Shooter

OPPO has just announced the OPPO A57 in India. The OPPO A57 is OPPO’s budget smartphone for the Indian smartphone market and it is made out of metal. This device actually resembles Meizu’s devices, it has a similar shape, and a home key is placed below the phone’s display. The power / lock key can be found on the right-hand side of this phone, where the SIM card tray lies as well, while the phone’s volume rocker keys are located on the left.

The OPPO A57 is a selfie phone, well, in a way, it comes with a 16-megapixel (f/2.0 aperture, 1.12um pixel size, 5P lens) front-facing camera, while its rear-facing camera is a 13-megapixel unit (f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens, PDAF), which seems inferior to the phone’s selfie shooter, at least on paper. The OPPO A57 features a 5.2-inch 720p (1280 x 720) 2.5D curved display, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 435 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 1.4GHz, along with the Adreno 505 GPU for graphics. The fingerprint scanner is placed inside of the phone’s home key, and the device comes with a 2,900mAh battery on the inside, and that battery is not removable. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this phone, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find OPPO’s ColorOS 3.0. Two SIM card slots are available inside of the OPPO A57 (2 x nano SIM), and this device offers 4G LTE connectivity. The phone measures 149.1 x 72.9 x 7.65mm, while it weighs 147 grams.

Now, this phone’s home button actually comes with a hydrophobic zirconium surface, which essentially means that the fingerprint scanner will work even if your fingers are moist, or at least it should. The OPPO A57 comes in a Gold color variant only, which is quite interesting, and it costs Rs. 14,990 ($221) in the country. The phone will become available starting this Friday, February 3rd, and you’ll be able to purchase it through offline stores and online retailers, Flipkart, Amazon India and Snapdeal will sell this phone for sure, while other retailers might offer it as well, in fact, they probably will.
