Lenovo Intros New Education Chromebooks, Priced From $199

Lenovo has today announced that they will be releasing four new education-focused Chromebooks over the coming months. These are the Lenovo N23 Chromebook, the Lenovo N23 Yoga Chromebook, the Lenovo ThinkPad 11e Chromebook and the ThinkPad 11e Yoga Chromebook. All of these Chromebooks will become available in the US by the end of May 2017 and their prices will vary from $199 up to $449.

In fact, these new Chromebooks have been announced as extensions of various Windows offerings by Lenovo and therefore will be available in both Windows and Chrome OS variants. Which Lenovo states will offer schools and educational institutes the option to choose which operating system best suits their needs. In terms of the differences between the Chromebook ranges, the two lines (N23 and ThinkPad 11e) will both be available in a standard form and a Yoga option. The N23 Chromebooks (shown above) are designed to be the more affordable of the two lines, while also catering to those looking for portable, durable and powerful Chromebooks. Both N23 models come with a water-resistant keyboard and both come with a battery which is stated to offer up to 10 hours of usage before needing to be recharged. In contrast, the two new ThinkPad 11e models (shown below) are designed for those looking for even more powerful and durable machines. Both the ThinkPad 11e models come equipped with a military standard build quality and also both offer up to 10 hours of usage off the charge.

In terms of the availability, Lenovo has confirmed that the first Chromebook to become available will be the Lenovo N23 Chromebook. This one will become available in February with prices starting from $199. Following which, in April, the Lenovo N23 Yoga Chromebook will also become available with prices starting from $279. While the ThinkPad 11e Chromebook and the ThinkPad 11e Yoga Chromebook will both become available in May, with the price of the ThinkPad 11e Chromebook starting at $369 and the ThinkPad 11e Yoga Chromebook starting at $449. It is also worth noting that these new Lenovo options are not the only new affordable Chromebooks that have been announced today as both Acer and ASUS have also announced incoming new Chromebooks that are designed with the education sector in mind.
