Elephone S8 Leaks Again, Still Looks Like The Xiaomi Mi MIX

First real life image of the Elephone S8 has just surfaced, and if this image is to be believed, the final product will be really similar to the Xiaomi Mi MIX. The alleged Elephone S8 surfaced back in December, and that image resembled the one that just leaked quite a bit, though there’s one rather noticeable difference here. The render that surfaced back in December did not sport a home button below the display, while today’s image does.

The aforementioned render sported Elephone’s branding below the display, but the general shape of the phone remains unchanged. Unfortunately, we get to see only the front side of the device now, so we don’t know if there are any differences in that department, as the render that leaked last year also sported a dual camera setup on the back. In any case, this smartphone features no bezel on its top, or on its sides, only the ‘chin’ below the display, where the phone’s physical home key / fingerprint scanner is located. This image also reveals that the phone’s display will be slightly curved on the sides, and that its power / lock and volume rocker buttons will be placed on the right. The phone’s frame is made out of metal, or so it seems, though as already mentioned, we don’t really get to see its back side, but we’re guessing Elephone will use either glass or metal for the back of this smartphone.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX was announced back in October last year, and it managed to surprise quite a few people, mainly due to its design. The Xiaomi Mi MIX took the bezel-less concept to a whole new level, and even though its design makes it rather awkward to use, it’s one of the most innovative looking smartphones of 2016, if not the number one on that list. The Elephone S7 resembles the Galaxy S7 Edge quite a bit, and it seems like the Elephone S8 will be inspired by the Xiaomi Mi MIX. We still do not know when will Elephone announced this smartphone, but chances are that will happen in the next couple of months, though it will probably take Elephone some time to make this handset available for purchase.
