With 2017 almost here, much of the news over the first few months of next year will revolve around which devices are finally being updated to the latest version of Android, version 7.0 (Nougat). While 2016 has yet to officially come to an end, one of the manufacturers who is making their 2017 Nougat ambitions clear is OUKITEL. As the company has now confirmed its plans regarding which of their devices will be the first to get their Android Nougat update.
According to the details coming through, during 2017, six specific OUKITEL devices will be updated to Android Nougat. Those listed as definitely receiving the update include the OUKITEL U7 Plus, the OUKITEL U15 Pro, the OUKITEL U15S, the OUKITEL K6000 Pro, the OUKITEL K10000, and the OUKITEL C5 Pro. Interestingly, one of the latest OUKITEL devices, the OUKITEL U20 Plus has yet to see its confirmation coming through with no firm details on when its update will arrive.
Of the confirmed devices, it would seem that the OUKITEL U7 Plus will be the first device to get the Nougat update from OUKITEL. According to reliable sources, the U7 Plus has actually already received an early version of Android Nougat for testing. Presuming there are no issues noted with the early testing on the U7 Plus, then the U7 Plus is scheduled to receive its full OTA Nougat update before the Chinese Spring Festival - which should mean before the end of January. Following which, the OUKITEL K6000 Pro and the K10000, among others, will be next to receive their updates in the opening months of the year and by the end of March.
Interestingly, it seems that it is not just the Nougat update which is scheduled to start rolling out to OUKITEL devices in the near future, as it also seems that the older OUKITEL K6000 (which currently runs on Android 5.1 - Lollipop) will be getting its Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update by the close of February of 2017. While this is a smartphone that still comes running on Lollipop, it is one which packs in a fair amount of features for the price, including a 5.5-inch display, 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. As well as a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 6000 mAh battery. This is also a smartphone which happens to currently be on sale for only $99.99.
