Wearables haven't taken off like many thought, but Huawei still has a couple of fantastic offerings. Including the Huawei Watch, which is their only smartwatch running on the Android Wear platform. It's a rather large smartwatch, but it's also one of the best models on the market right now. As is the case with most smartwatches these days, Huawei is offering it in a slew of different designs. Some have leather bands, some are metal, and they even have a few that were designed specifically for the ladies. Like the Jewel (in Pearl and Sapphire). The Huawei Watch is perfect for just about everyone, making it a great Holiday gift this year.
The Huawei Watch runs on Android Wear, which is Google's platform for wearables. It's mostly based on Android, and it works with Android apps. For instance, if you download Google Keep or Evernote for taking notes, the same app will work on your wrist as well as your smartphone. So you can sign in once on your phone and still be signed in on your watch. The Huawei Watch can do all kinds of other things, besides taking notes. It can track your activity through a slew of apps, you can also make a todo-list using your voice, and even get directions on your wrist. This is especially helpful if you are riding a bike through the busy New York City streets. There is also a speaker included on the Huawei Watch, allowing you to get feedback from your watch and even play music without needing headphones.
Now the Huawei Watch isn't for everyone. Some people just want a wearable that can track their activity. Well Huawei has you covered there as well. Just last month, they announced the Huawei Fit, which is a cheaper smartwatch that sports an e-ink display and only tracks your activity - which means the battery will last longer as well. It does still provide notifications, but they aren't as rich or actionable as those you'll find on the Huawei Watch. The Huawei Fit is a much cheaper smartwatch, but also not as stylish. Both of these would make great gift ideas this Holiday season however.
