Download: Google Keep v3.4 Gets A New Drawing Mode Feature

Google Keep is getting some new features with its latest update, adding improvements to the Drawing Mode functionality that exists within the app and preparing for other features and changes to be added down the road in future updates. If you don't use Google Keep, it's Google's official note taking application that actually lets you do more than just take notes, as it enables you to create lists, save links and images from web pages, and more. With Google Keep's latest update it should push users up to version 3.4.462, although like all app updates it's unlikely that everyone will see the update today or even this week. That said, if you don't want to wait you can always grab the necessary APK file from the buttons below.

As for what's changing with this version of Google Keep, Drawing Mode is getting a new feature with the inclusion of the "grab image text" option, which is just as it sounds. It allows users to grab the text from an image that they have drawn in a note. Grab image text also isn't entirely new to Keep, as it was already available outside of Drawing Mode.

Although this is technically the only new feature that's currently available after installing this version of the app, there are new features coming that are likely just around the corner, and this Google Keep update seems to be laying the groundwork for those. Included here will be new features that are to be added to Drawing Mode, which, will join the Grab Image Text option once they go live. These look to be spread about as a few new incoming editing options that allow the ability to draw with stickers, text, and shapes. Once these are actual usable features, users will be able to enter Drawing Mode and create a new image using any one of these options instead of just a small collection of pencil and pen tips. There isn't any mention of when these features could go live, so they could very well happen in the next update after this one, or they could be further out, but considering that Drawing Mode got a new feature today, there's a chance the next update will continue with Drawing Mode by adding the new creation tools.
