Amazon's Echo Dot is currently the cheapest way to bring Alexa into your home. It's a small speaker that has Amazon's personal assistant inside, and it's back in stock. The device has been discounted from $49 to $39 for the majority of the holiday shopping season, which has led to Amazon being out of stock of the Echo Dot for quite some time. But as of writing this post, the black colored Echo Dot is back in stock, while the white model will ship on December 27th.
For the uninitiated, the Echo Dot is a very small speaker from Amazon. It can be connected to other speakers via a 3.5mm cable or Bluetooth. It has Alexa inside, which allows you to do things like playing music from your favorite providers like Spotify, iHeart Radio, Pandora, and even Amazon's own Prime Music. You can also use Alexa to find a flight using Kayak, or call you an Uber, and even use Alexa to give you instructions on how to cook dinner, thanks to the Allrecipes skill that is available. The features of Alexa are truly endless, especially with more and more skills popping up.
While the Echo Dot is back in stock now, it is not going to arrive in time for Christmas, unfortunately. But it can arrive as early as December 28th, which is next Wednesday.
