The Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL are amongst the best Android-based smartphone currently available out in the market. These are the first devices Google has designed from both hardware and software standpoint, and they have been available for purchase for quite some time now. Some variants of the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL have been in higher demand than others, which resulted in some shortages for Google, as the company had underestimated the demand for their new phones, and that resulted in some shortages, the Really Blue variant of the Google Pixel was not available through the Google Store in the US for a while (is available again since recently), and the Pixel XL, in general, was not available lately, well, until now.
The Google Pixel XL is now, once again, available in the US through the Google Store, well, at least the 32GB variant of the phone. Three color options are available, Quite Black, Really Blue and Very Silver, though not a single 128GB storage variant can be purchased at the moment, as those models are still out of stock. The Really Blue Google Pixel XL (32GB model) is shipping in 2-3 weeks, while the Quite Black and Very Silver models are shipping in 4-5 weeks, so your phone won’t exactly be out the door after you order it, you’ll have to wait for a bit, and chances are you’ll get your phone after the holidays. It seems like the demand for the Pixel phones is considerably higher than Google anticipated, which is why we’re seeing such shortages in the Google Store, and Verizon Wireless is also having such issues it seems.
The Google Pixel XL is considerably bigger than a 5-inch Google Pixel, as it comes with a 5.5-inch display, and we’re looking at a QHD AMOLED panel here. The device is made out of metal, and its fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of the phone. The phone packs in 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 128GB of non-expandable internal storage. The 12.3-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of the Google Pixel XL, and a 3,450mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. The Google Pixel XL originally came with Android 7.1 Nougat, but Android 7.1.1 Nougat update is already available. In case you need more info, you can check out our full review of the Google Pixel XL.
