Xiaomi Unveils Piston 3 Pro In-Ear Headphones for $21.99

Xiaomi has been increasingly rolling up its sleeves to produce a number of competitive flagship smartphones to keep up with the global race. Along with these handsets comes a boatload of accessories that are designed to better enhance user experience. One of the most popular accessories the company has been manufacturing is the Piston series of earphones, and Xiaomi has debuted new in-ear headphones called the Piston 3 Pro in its home country.

The earphones have been unveiled just a few days after the Chinese company launched the sports-focused Mi Sports Bluetooth headset. Xiaomi's new headphones show off an anodized CNC diamond-cut aluminium sound chamber with a CD pattern engraved design and a Graphene diaphragm, which will surely delight users with more natural sounds and a tri-band balance, according to the company. The Piston 3 Pro will be initially available in China for 149 Yuan (approximately $21.99) beginning on November 11, though global availability and pricing for the in-ear headphones are still not clear.

The Piston 3 Pro has supposedly gone through 700 quality test processes that Xiaomi claimed were tougher than the usual industry benchmark. That is why the company boasts the new in-ear headphones as extremely durable. The Piston 3 Pro features some nifty technical features including an impedance value of 32 Ohms and a frequency range of 20-40KHz. It also comes with a 1.25-meter long wire equipped with three control buttons along the line. Users can switch from one track to another or play and pause a song using these buttons. Xiaomi also ditched flat wires for the earphones, choosing rounded ones that are made of TPE with a matte finish. The main ear buds are also said to fit conveniently into the ears as they are bent to 45 degrees to keep them from falling off when you change position. Xiaomi also squeezed 4 sizes of silicone soft skin ear plugs into the Piston 3 Pro to minimize ear irritation.

Although the earphones are optimized to work smoothly with Xiaomi-built phones, non Xiaomi users can still get the most out of the Piston 3 Pro by tweaking the audio settings where you can customize the sound experience according to the type of device you are using. While you wait for the Piston 3 Pro to arrive in your country, feast your eyes on the gallery below.
