Vivo V5 Gets Announced With 4GB Of RAM, 20MP Selfie Camera

Vivo had managed to grow quite a bit in the last year or so. This company is currently the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in China, at least as far as sales are concerned. Vivo had managed to sell over 100% more devices in Q3 this year, than they were able to move in Q3 last year, which says a lot actually. In any case, the company’s Vivo Xplay 6 flagship, Vivo X9 and Vivo X9 Plus devices have been leaking like crazy in the last couple of weeks, and are expected to be introduced soon. As we’re waiting for Vivo to release those three phones, the company has just rolled out a new device in India, read on.

The Vivo V5 is Vivo’s newly-announced smartphone. The company has announced this device in India, as already mentioned, and as expected, this is the company’s well-specced mid-ranger. The Vivo V5 is a metal-clad smartphone which comes with a home button below the display, and this home key actually doubles as a fingerprint scanner, and is able to unlock your phone in 0.2 seconds, according to Vivo. This smartphone features a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) 2.5D curved glass display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass protection on top of it. The phone is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6750 64-bit octa-core SoC, and a 3,000mAh battery is included on the inside. The phone also packs in 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. There are two SIM card slots available here (micro + nano SIM), and Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Vivo V5 with the company’s Funtouch OS 2.6 on top of it.

The 13-megapixel snapper (PDAF) is placed on the back of the Vivo V5, and a 20-megapixel shooter (Sony’s IMX376 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 5p lens) is available on the front side of this phone, along with ‘Moonlight Flash’. This handset offers 4G LTE connectivity, and the AK4376 audio chip is also a part of this package. The Vivo V5 comes in Space Gray and Crown Gold color variants, and costs Rs. 17,980 ($265) in India. The phone will be available for pre-order starting from November 16th, and pre-orders will last until November 25th. The phone will go on sale a day later, on November 26th, just in case you’re interested.
