However, the app is a fully fledged hotel search app, so regardless of whether you are searching for somewhere to stay next week or next summer, LateRooms will be able to help. Although if you are looking for a room on very short notice, then this is certainly one to try out.

SPG: Starwood Hotels & Resorts

This app won't be an app for everyone as it does not offer a comprehensive rounding up of all available hotels in your area. That is largely because this is a Starwood Hotels & Resort app. Which means that it primarily focuses on the Starwood family of hotels – which includes Westin, Sheraton, W Hotels, and more. However, that does still account for close to 1,100 hotels and resorts throughout 100 countries. So it is likely there will be one near you. Where this app comes to life though, is if you are an SPG member. Then the app has multiple additional benefits as well as great prices and deals exclusive to SPG members.

IHG Hotel Booking & Deals

Likewise, if you are not a fan of SPG associated hotels and prefer the IHG way of doing things, then the IHG Hotel Booking & Deals up will be the one for you. Like the SPG app, this is a brand-dedicated app, although the IHG brand list does include many of the big and well-known hotel chains including InterContinental, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and more. In fact, IHG state that with the app you have access to over 4,600 hotels throughout 100 countries. And like the SPG app, you can expect to find exclusive member deals and prices so it is worth checking out if you are already an IHG member.

Hilton HHonors

Of course, then there is the official Hilton app. If you are a member of Hilton's HHonors program then this will be the app you will want to download. Like the SPG and IHG options, this one also includes a variety of known hotel chains, such as Hilton, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, and more. As such you do gain access to exclusive deals and prices at all of these hotels, as well as some additional and useful features – like being able to use your smartphone as a 'Digital Key' to enter your hotel room

Airbnb

airbnb

Of course, if all else fails there's always Airbnb. Technically speaking, while Airbnb is not strictly a hotel service and does not provide access to hotel rooms per se, it does offer an affordable and popular alternative to mainstream vacationing. So if you are looking for somewhere to stay and you cannot find the right place (or at the right price) through the other apps and traditional means, then Airbnb might just be the one for you.
