Ulefone is one of many Chinese smartphone manufacturing companies we've talked about in the last couple of years. This company had introduced quite a few devices in the last year or so, like the Ulefone Metal smartphone which was introduced a couple of months ago. The company's Ulefone Future smartphone is quite compelling in terms of the design, and Ulefone's devices are constantly getting better as the company is learning from their mistakes. That being said, the company has just announced yet another smartphone, though this time around we're looking at a rugged smartphone, which is something we're not used to seeing from Ulefone, read on.
The phone Ulefone just introduced is called the Ulefone Armor, and it comes with the IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The moment you lay your eyes on this device you'll notice it's a rugged phone, no doubt about that, and there are three physical keys available below its display, menu, home and back keys. The Ulefone Armor might not be sleek looking or anything of the sort, but its design is not half bad for a rugged smartphone. It is worth mentioning that this device is also shockproof, and that its body is made out hard polycarbonate and soft TPU (+some rubbery material on top of it). The phone features a 4.7-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display which is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and the phone can withstand temperatures ranging from -20 degrees celsius, all the way up to 80 degrees celsius, according to the company. The device has several physical keys on the sides, on the left, you'll notice the volume rocker keys, while there are two interesting buttons on the right. You'll find the physical camera button on the right, and above it, the company has included a so-called 'SOS key', using which you can instantly send a message with your GPS information to a present contact, in a case of an emergency, of course.
As already mentioned, the phone comes with a 4.7-inch HD display, and in addition to that, you also get 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. The phone is fueled by MediaTek's MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 3,500mAh battery is also included in this package. The 13-megapixel snapper can be found on the back of the Ulefone Armor, and a 5-megapixel shooter is available on the phone's front side. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Ulefone Armor, along with some software additions by the company. The device is now available for pre-order for $159.99, while its regular price is $199.99, and it will cost that much once the pre-order period comes to an end.
