New Xiaomi Mi 5c Images Leak, Pricing Seemingly Revealed

The Xiaomi Mi 5 is one of the most powerful smartphones Xiaomi had introduced this year, and was the company’s flagship smartphone until the Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus launched a while back. In any case, we were wondering when will Xiaomi introduce the Xiaomi Mi 5c which was rumored a while back, and it leaked a number of times under the Xiaomi ‘Meri’ name. The device has been popping up quite frequently lately, and we have a new leak to share with you now, read on.

As you can see, three new images of the Xiaomi Mi 5c just leaked, and they actually go hand-in-hand with other leaks we’ve seen recently. From the front, this smartphone resembles the Xiaomi Mi 5 quite a bit, it will sport thin bezels on the sides, and a hardware home button below the display, which will be flanked by two capacitive keys you’ll be able to customize, but will serve as the back and overview (multitasking) buttons. The back of the device is made out of metal here it seems, which was not the case on the Mi 5, where the company opted for glass or ceramic on the back, depending on which variant you opt to purchase. Now, the third image in the gallery down below actually shows off a listing of this smartphone from a Chinese e-commerce site, and the listing mentions this phone as both the Xiaomi Mi 5c and Xiaomi Meri (Meri is probably its codename). The phone is listed here for 999 Yuan, which translates to $145.

This smartphone is actually expected to become available for the 12.12 sales festival in China next month, at least according to rumors, and it is going to sport mid-range specs, if leaks are to be believed. The Xiaomi Mi 5c will ship with a 5.15 or a 5.5-inch display, 3GB of RAM and the company’s in-house ‘Pine Cone’ processor, at least according to rumors. The home button below the display will actually double as a fingerprint scanner, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this smartphone with Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 skin on top of it. That is all the spec info we have at the moment, but chances are we’ll see a 13-megapixel camera on the back of this device as well. In any case, the phone is expected to launch in the near future, so stay tuned.
