Xiaomi's most recent flagship is the Mi 5, which has been surpassed by a refined version of the phone in the Mi 5s, but with the new year approaching and Mobile World Congress on the way, Xiaomi fans are likely to start thinking about what the company could be doing with their next flagship, the Mi 6. There hasn't been much in the way of leaks or rumors for this device just yet, but there have been a couple of rumors which have surfaced in the last few months, with a set of leaked specs having shown up back in July, while a leaked image of what was allegedly an early build of the Mi 6 surfaced back in October. Now, a new leaked image has popped up that is suggested to be a prototype render of the phone.
Today's leak, which is by no means an actual live image of the phone, does seem to have a similar design to the leaked image that surfaced last month, which could signify that the design that's being shown here is a current design that Xiaomi is working with and testing, but it's also entirely possible that the render was created based on the leak from last month, and the reality is that it's still too early to know if this is actually Xiaomi's final design for the phone.
All that said, it is also worth noting that the render shown above and the leak from October have the rear-facing camera sensor in different spots, as it's to the left of the LED flash module in today's leak, while to the right of the LED flash module in the older image. The rest of the design looks pretty similar, however, with visible lines that can be seen going across the phone width wise both on the top and bottom sections of the phone on the backside. You can also see the sensors and front-facing camera in the top bezel, as well as a home button in the bottom bezel, so for the most part a typical Xiaomi design style. While there had been specs rumored in the past, the render above is the only new piece of detail surrounding the Xiaomi Mi 6, as there is no new rumored specifications to speak of. Taking that into consideration, hardware specs that are more likely to be what Xiaomi is using for the Mi 6 could leak closer to when the company has a planned announcement.
