While the first TV on this list might be a 2015 model, it also happens to be a 4K TV. So if you are in the market for a 4K TV specifically and one which comes in under a $500 budget then the VIZIO M43-C1 might be one to check out. This is a 43-inch TV and one which comes with a refresh rate of 240Hz (Effective). As you might expect, this is a smart TV so you will also have access to all your favorite apps. While this one is not short on ports with an optical port on offer, as well a USB port and five HDMI ports.

Sharp LC-50UB30U 50-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2015 Model)

If you like the idea of what is on offer with the VIZIO M43-C1 for the price but would prefer a slightly bigger TV set then the Sharp LC-50UB30U might do the job. TCL 55US5800 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD Roku Smart LED TV (2016 Model)

If the features matter above everything else than the TCL 55US5800 is a real bargain at under $500. First off, this is a 55-inch TV set making it the biggest on offer so far. This also happens to be another 4K option at under $500 and this one comes with a more immersive user experience thanks to the inclusion of Roku TV as the main user interface. The refresh rate comes in at 60Hz (Native) which is boosted up to 120Hz (Effective) thanks to Clear Motion Index. While ports on offer including an optical port, one USB port and four HDMI ports.

Sony KDL40R510C 40-Inch 1080p Smart LED TV (2015 Model)

So far, while the TVs on offer do come under $500 they only barely come in at $500 and do ride that top end price point. If you are looking for something a bit more affordable than the Sony KDL40R510C is worth checking out as it will currently cost you about half of the top price point for the list. This is a 40-inch TV.this is also a 2015 model and this is not a 4K TV but instead offers a 1080p resolution. While the refresh rate comes in at 60Hz (Native); Motionflow XR 120 (Effective). While ports on offer including an optical port, two USB ports and two HDMI ports. Those interested in a bit of a bigger TV can also opt for the 48-inch model which is largely identical but does cost an additional $100 which still sees it coming in at under $500.

VIZIO D50-D1 50-Inch Smart LED TV (2016 Model)

Sticking with 1080p TVs for the moment, the VIZIO D50-D1 is another good option at under $500 and definitely for those who want a newer TV set. This is a 2016 model from VIZIO and is a 50-inch TV. So while this one does come with bells and whistles, it is a nice, reliable and new TV for those looking for one. The refresh rate comes in at 120Hz (Effective) while the ports on offer include an optical port and five HDMI ports.

Hisense 43H7C2 43-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2016 Model)

One of the best deals currently available for those looking for a 4K TV comes from Hisense. This is the Hisense 43H7C2 TV and is a 4K supported TV. This is also a fairly new model as it is a 2016 TV and this one comes in much cheaper than the other 4K options on the list. However, the TV display is a little smaller as this one only measures 43-inches. Likewise, the refresh rate comes in at 60Hz. Although there are plenty of ports on offer including one optical port, three USB ports and four HDMI ports.

Seiki SE42UMS 42-Inch 4K Ultra HD LED TV (2015 Model)

Another well-priced 4K set comes from Seiki in the form of the Seiki SE42UMS. This is a 2015 model and in terms of size, comes in very close to the Hisense 43H7C2 with the Seiki SE42UMS measuring 43-inches. The refresh rate is also the same as the Hisense 43H7C2 at 60Hz (Native). Although this one comes with less ports but you do get an optical port, one USB port and three HDMI ports. So possible not as good of a deal as the Hisense 43H7C2 but one still worth checking out.

Sony KDL48W650D 48-Inch HD TV (2016 Model)

Sony is a popular TV manufacturer and therefore it should not be much of a surprise to see them popping up twice on this list. This is the second option today from Sony and in contrast to the other Sony, this one is a newer TV set as it is a 2016 model. It is also a larger TV as it comes with a 48-inch size. That said the refresh rate is the same as the other Sony option with 60Hz (Native) on offer and boosted to 240 (Effective) with Motionflow XR. Another similarity is the number of ports on offer as you do get one optical, two USB ports and two HDMI ports.

LG Electronics 43UH6100 43-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2016 Model)

From one big TV manufacturers to another, if you prefer the LG way of doing things then the LG Electronics 43UH6100 will likely be your best bet for under $500. This is a 43-inch LG TV and one which comes with a refresh rate of 120Hz (Effective). While this is a slightly smaller TV than some of the other options, besides being an LG TV and coming running on webOS 3.0, this also happens to be a 4K TV and a 2016 model. So for under $500 this is a certainly an option worth checking out. In terms of ports, you can expect to find an optical port, one USB port and three HDMI ports.

Samsung UN40KU6300 40-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2016 Model)

Closing out the list today is the UN40KU6300 TV from Samsung. Those looking for a new Samsung TV specifically will probably be off taking a look at the Samsung UN40KU6300 within the $500 price range. This is the smallest TV on the list today as it is only 40-inches in size. However, as well as being a Samsung TV it is a 2016 model and it is also a 4K TV and one which supports High Dynamic Range (HDR). So this one will be all about the display. Although there are quite a few ports on offer too, including an optical port, two USB ports and three HDMI ports.
